English (United States).

Here's the first screen that iTune's installer showed me:

The dialogue box opens with "English (United States)" selected as the default.

Too many times I've been stuck with US paper sizes or measurement units, because I accepted defaults in an installation program -- so now when I see something like "English (United States)", I reflexively click to change it. Mostly there's an "English (British)" and sometimes I'm even granted the pleasure of an "English (Australian)".

Not this time. I guess you could say that the range of English variations iTunes offers is somewhat narrower than I expected.

As a "non-American" I'm quite accustomed to the fact that the English offered in computing products is Americanised; is it really necessary to rub it in like this?

iTunes doesn't suck (although it gets worse if you actually own an iPod), but this language selector sure sucks.

I totally Agree here =0). But the reason the MPA uses the kid stealing and the Guilt Campaign is they in fact realize that it is not illegal to copy movies. It is Illegal for you to sell or even give the copies away, But even copies made of rented movies are on the fringe of the law and only "distribution" of said property is a crime. In other words it is a Giant Brainwash Scheme and we all get to endure it. I usually back my films up and remove all the Annoying crap =).

I agree with most of what you say. One thing to note however is that whether a thing sucks or not depends of one's taste as well.

You think itunes and ipods don't suck? It makes me want to throw up even looking at the itunes interface. It makes me sick that I cannot completely remove it from my mac, because Apple decided that I must need it. Ipods/iphones suck big time in my view simply because they are intentionally crippled in so many ways by Apple.
